Dr. Karen Gail Lewis has more than 35 years experience as a family therapist with offices in Cincinnati, and Washington, DC. She has a master’s degree in social work and a doctorate in consulting psychology. She has been on the faculty of several universities and on editorial boards of three professional journals. In 1997, she was honored with the Visionary Award by the Washington, D.C. Rape Crisis Center.

She is the author of six books (ie., With or without a Man: Single Women Taking Control of Their Life), and several ebooks (ie.,The Secret to a Solid Marriage: Understanding Gender Differences). Dr. Lewis’s first book, Siblings in Therapy, helped bring national attention to the importance of siblings in the lives of adults and children. She is currently working on a book about sibling relationships in mid-life.

She has appeared in dozens of major U.S. newspapers and magazines as an expert on issues about adult singles, baby-boomer women in transition, women’s friendships, marriage and changing gender roles, and sibling relationships in adulthood.

She is the founder of Women and The People They Love, an umbrella company for the different retreats, workshops, and other programs she offers – to women, their husbands/partners, children, parents, siblings, and friends.

In 1996, she founded Unique Retreats for Women. They include weekends for Women Ready for Change, for Singles, for Wives of Highly Successful Husbands, and for Adult Siblings.
